 1. Member's Area

The member's area is the first web page you will see when you log in to http://app.instantofflinepresence.com. Here you can manage your designs, participate in community designs, edit your account settings and use the application.

For new users: Your My Designs tab will be empty and there will be an instruction how you can start creating designs.

 A. Parts of the Member's Area

1. Offline Presence logo - links you back to your dashboard.
2. Tabs - includes a. My Design Tabs, b. Community Designs and c. Profile Settings.
3. Notes - new software updates and notes appear on this panel.
4. New design button - lets you start the app to create designs.
5. Help - links you to software tutorials and faq.
6. Logout - logs you out from Offline Presence user account.

 

 B. My Designs 

 By default you will be under this tab. Here you will see all your saved designs. Each design item displays its title on top, thumbnail, and options below.

 C. Community Designs

Under this tab are design items from other users which they submitted and approved by the admin. These designs can be viewed, and used/edited. You may also submit your designs to share it to the Offline Presence community.

 How to submit your design to Community designs.

1. Under My Designs tab and on your design item, click on More button.

2. A pop-up appears and then click on Make Public.

3. After submission your design item will look like the image below. It will be labeled as Waiting for Approval since the image will still be reviewed by the Admin. Once checked, it will either be Approved or Declined.

Note: Good and unique designs will most likely get approved.

 

 How to withdraw your design from Community designs.

1. Under My Designs tab and on your design item, click on More button.

2. A pop-up appears and then click on Withdraw Design.

3. Your page will reload and your design will be withdrawn from the community design even if its status is approved, declined or waiting for approval.

 

 D. Profile Settings

Here you can edit your account settings.

1. Click on Profile Settings tab

2. Click on the input fields to type in the details you want to change. (For instance your email).

3. Then click on Edit Profile button to save changes.

 

2. Creating new design

1. Click on New Design button on the top right.

2. Offline Presence will load and please wait for the Welcome Screen to appear.

3. After the Application loads you will see the Welcome Screen, choose your Print Category(on the left portion) by clicking it to load templates. (Example: Business Cards)

4. On the right portion, click on the desired Template or you may click on the Blank to load a fresh blank design.

 

3. Adding texts

1. To add texts, click on the Text tab which is the first tab on the left portion of the app to slide out its options.

2. As the options slide out, click on the Add text button to add text on your canvas.

Note: To slide the options back to the left, click the Text tab again. (Or click the active tab)

 

A. Editing Text

1. Double-click on the text you want to edit.

2. Your text will be highlighted with black and then you can start to edit by typing in the new texts.

 

B. Text Color

1. To change the color of your text, click on the text to make it active/focused (in which the handles will be visible).

2. On the top menu, click on Color button.

3. The color slider will appear and you can click on the color you want to use. You may also hover on the canvas to copy the color your cursor is pointing or you can enter color codes on the slider and then click OK.

 

C. Text Font

1. To change the font of your text, click on the text to make it active/focused (in which the handles will be visible).

2. Click on the Text tab on the left to slide out the options (If the options are not shown yet).

3. Under the Type choose from the fonts on the select box.

 

D. Text Size

1. To change the size of your text, click on the text to make it active/focused (in which the handles will be visible).

2. Click on the Text tab on the left to slide out the options (If the options are not shown yet).

3.

a. Under the Size is a slider. Drag the round handle to increase(to the right) or decrease(to the left) the text size. 

b. You may also use the handles to increase or decrease text size. Click on and drag the handles on one of the corner.

 

E. Text Alignment

1. To change the alignment of your text, click on the text to make it active/focused (in which the handles will be visible).

2. Click on the Text tab on the left to slide out the options (If the options are not shown yet).

3. At the bottom part of the Text option you will see the alignment icons for left, right and center align. Then click on the alignment you want for your text/paragraph.

 

4. Applying backgrounds

1. To apply backgrounds on your canvas, click on the Backgrounds tab which is the second tab on the left portion of the app to slide out its options.

2. The background panel slides out containing the different background design styles/patterns. Click on one of them to apply it to the canvas. Among the styles are the transparent, a soft gradient and the rest are patterns.

Coloring the background

You can color the background except the transparent.

1. Click on the background in the canvas.

2. On the top menu, click on Color button.

3. The color slider will appear and you can click on the color you want to use. You may also hover on the canvas to copy the color your cursor is pointing or you can enter color codes on the slider and then click OK.

Note: After coloring, the pattern style stays the same, the only difference is the color that overlays the backgrounds. Below are some of the instances for background no. 1:

As you can see, figure 3 tends to become violet in color since it is mixed with the pattern's original color - blue.

 

5. Adding borders

1. To add borders on your canvas, click on the Borders tab which is the third tab on the left portion of the app to slide out its options.

2. Click on the border you want to choose from the options listed. There is also a no-border option.

Note: The borders may appear to be thick on the sides but it's alright since they are covering the bleed areas which will be trimmed off. Thus the borders will just have the right size. You can check out how the borders will look like on the 3D Preview.

For instance we apply a black border on a business card.

6. Using Clip-Arts / Graphics

1. To add clip-arts or graphics, click on the Clip-arts tab which is the last tab on the left portion of the app to slide out its options.

2. Select one category of clip-arts. 

3. Then click the clip-art you want to use and it will come out in the canvas.

 

A. Clip-art Color

1. To change the clip-art's color, click on the clip-art to make it active/focused. (Handles will appear).

2. On the right portion of the app, the color box for clip-arts will appear. Here the clip-art (Bicycle) has 3 colors. Let's say we want to change the yellow to red. 

3. Click on the yellow box/swatch and the color slider on top will come out. And then click on any color you want to use on the slide. For example: Red.

4. The clip-art's color will be changed. You may also change the other colors of the clip-art using the same steps. The clip-arts only have 4 colors or less.

Note: Each color has a corresponding part in the clip-art. Like for the example above, changing yellow to red only applies to the body of the bicycle.

 

7. Top menu

The top menu bar contains the common functions in the software, some of which are on coloring elements, deleting and duplicating.

1. Undo - cancels your last move/result and takes you to the previous move/result. You can also use the shortcut by pressing Ctrl + Z.

2. Redo - redoes your last move/result that was canceled/discarded by Undo. You can also use the shortcut by pressing Ctrl + Y.

3. Upload Image - click to upload images to the canvas in formats: PNG, JPG and GIF.

4. Color - opens the color slider/picker which you can choose colors from to apply on your selected element. It can only color Backgrounds and Texts. You may use it by either 1. selecting from the slider, 2. Entering color codes and click OK and 3. use cursor to copy the color it points.

5. Bring Forward - brings the selected element one step forward. Does not apply to backgrounds.

6. Send Backward - sends the selected element one step backward. Does not apply to backgrounds.

7. Duplicate - click to create a copy of the selected element. The duplicate usually goes on top of all the elements. You can also use the shortcut by pressing Ctrl + J.

8. Delete - click to delete/remove the selected element. You can also use the shortcut by pressing Delete.

9. Templates - click to view the templates section in the welcome screen window.

10. View - comes in with 3 sub menus.

    a. Grid - shows/hides grids which can be used to align elements on the canvas. 

    b. Guide - shows/hides guides for Texts-Safe Zone Lines and Bleed Area Lines.

    c. 3D Preview - opens the 3D Preview window showing Classic and Realistic 3D rendering                                which you can download.

11. Download - click to download your design in high-resolution image in PNG format. You will be receiving a 72dpi image which you may need to edit the setting to 300dpi, for more details please see: Image Resolution (DPI)

12. Save - saves your new design or overwrites the existing design in your account online. Type in the filename and click Save.

13. Save As - saves your new or existing design into a different file name. Type in the filename and click Save.

Note: When features are greyed-out, this means they are not applicable to the element you are selecting.

 

8. Moving, resizing and rotating elements.

Before you can move, resize or rotate elements you have to click them to make them selected/active/focused. Once active, your element will display its handles(in red arrow).

 

A. Move

To move your element, click on it first and then drag(click and hold then move) to where you will move it.

B. Resize

To resize your element, click on it first and then click on one of the corner handles and then drag out to enlarge or drag in to make is small.

C. Rotate

To rotate your element, click on it first and then hover on the top handle in the middle. Once you see rotating arrows click and drag the element either to the left or to the right to rotate.

 

9. Zoom and pan

Zoom and pan feature(located at the right portion of the app) allows users to edit or move around the canvas and to zoom in and out.

1. Zoom in - magnifies/enlarges your view on the design. 

2. Zoom out - minimizes your view on the design.

3. Pan - click pan to activate it so you can drag the canvas around while zoomed in.

4. Arrow - by default it is active which means you can edit the design. When you click Pan you will not be able to edit because it became inactive. Click it to deactivate Pan and you can then edit the design.
